Mike is a senior product designer at Alphabet’s Verily Life Sciences, currently designing digital experiences for medical professionals tasked with caring for patients participating in leading edge clinical trials.
Mike’s career spans more than 25 years of both physical and digital product design. Mike moved to Nashville to work in the music business, and served both as a marketing director and then creative director for two global contemporary Christian music labels. After designing more than 100 music packages a year, Mike started his own agency. His work eventually led to him leading the digital and physical creative for Gigi’s Cupcakes USA, then the largest gourmet cupcake franchise in the world.
From cupcakes, Mike moved to healthcare, leading UX design for HCA Healthcare’s Sarah Cannon Cancer Research division. At HCA, Mike designed StudyCentral, the world’s first fully end-to-end digital system to manage the entire life cycle of a clinical trial.
Lilibeth is from Bogotá, Colombia, with a background in communications and journalism; after moving to the USA, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a designer. She studied visual design and UX-UI. Now she is a lead product designer at Nuvocargo, a supply chain company; she is also the founder of SoulDoodles, a platform to inspire people to create more art. She teaches UX-UI through Memorisely, an online school, in her free time.
I build teams, inspire through storytelling and communicate complex design ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences to ensure that products are as effective as they are beautiful.
Currently, I’m a Senior Product Design Manager at LinkedIn, where I focus on people management and building the vision for consumer and enterprise experiences for nearly 800 million users worldwide.
Throughout my life, I’ve always been fascinated by the intersection of design, technology and culture. Prior to working in a corporate environment, I scaled Base’s design team from its startup stage to its Zendesk acquisition.
My interest in experience design also paved me into co-founding several media initiatives that allowed me to work with Grammy nominated figures including Mike Posner, Macklemore, Big Sean, J Cole, Wiz Khalifa and Russell Simmons.
Outside of work, I enjoy contributing to the design community through articles, interviews and speaking engagements. This interest inspired me to launch Technically Speaking with Harrison Wheeler, a podcast about BIPOC designers, entrepreneurs & technologists sharing their unique stories of triumph and resilience.
